June 5 A response to "Just Have Faith"
As we are still trying to sell our home, a few good-meaning friends say, "Just have faith." I do agree that faith is important in this home selling dilemma, but a sympathic or empathetic response would be helpful to my emotional well being.
When I think of the many times throughtout life I've said those words, "just have faith," I probably didn't understand the need for a little empathy on my part. I suppose I've sent friend and not-yet friends on their merry way and did not bolstering the spirit with hopeful words. To you I beg forgiveness.
To set the record straight, I do have faith and I do believe God is acting in our best interest, but would someone say, "I can't imagine what it takes to have a model perfect home everyday" or "I don't know how you have the energy to clean soo much" or "I'm supporting you in prayer. Could I come by and help you spruce up tomorrow?" Oh well, I guess I'll pretend those well-meaning words are what are truly being said by "just have faith."
To God be the glory.
